Diss Town Strategy

The Town and District Councils have unveiled plans to smarten up the south side of Park Road.

The plans include diverting the through road behind the Fire station and the Bus station, which will allow a greater pedestrianised area at the bottom of the park.

There is to be a Public Meeting to discuss the plans on Tuesday 28th October in the Corn Hall.

The plans will be available for viewing from 23-28th October.

The ambitious plans also include changing the direction of travel along Mere Street.

I have to say I wouldn’t mind the whole centre to be pedestrianised.  Anything to stop those great big lorries coming through the town knocking bits off the buildings and almost running us over would be great.
