Finally, things are happening on the Disabled Access ramp on the western side of the station. I have seen the first draft planning scheme.
The car park actually is on quite a steeped piece of ground, so the ramp will have to be tucked up tight in the most northern corner. This may seem the most inaccessible part of the platform, but of course once its built, signed etc – it will be fine.
I am hoping (fingers crossed) that it will be completed within this financial year………….
I had hoped the ramp would be incorporated with the very steep steps, but this is not possible because of the 10-12 foot drop in height, but improvement to the steps should happen at the same time.

Further update……. the work on the access ramp should commence within the next 4 weeks! – here’s hoping for decent weather so that there are no delays.
There will still be the problem of actually crossing the tracks for disabled people, and I really do not know what the solution is. i.e. on sticks or with wheelchair etc you will soon be able to access the train from either car park, but what do you do when you arrive back at Diss on the other side of the track?
